Pancake Breakfasts and Taco Lunches
Pancakes: Tandem's traditional
Wednesday pancake and egg breakfast begins Wednesday,
September 3 and will continue every Wednesday
morning throughout the school year. Breakfast
is served in the middle school lunch room from
7:30am until 8:20am. Eggs from the Tandem chickens
are cooked to order. There is no cost for the
breakfast, however donations of milk, syrup,
butter, cooking oil, and juice are gratefully
accepted. The Tandem Parent Association then
provides whatever has not been received in donations.
Families, siblings, car pool members, and grandparents
are all welcome to eat. It is a fun time for
students of all grade levels and faculty and
staff to share community time together. Four
regular parent volunteers are continuing to
assist this year. Contact David Slezak for further

Tacos: Each Monday any student
may buy a tortilla lunch for $4.00. No pre-registration
is necessary. This year in addition to beans,
we will offer local grass fed beef tacos for
the same price. Lunch includes two tacos, cheese,
lettuce, tomato, corn chips, dessert and drink.
Also this year, our fresh tomatoes and salsa
will be locally provided by The Farm At Red
Hill Greenhouses. Contact David Slezak for further

Tag Sale Donations
November 1st & 2nd are the dates
for the annual Tandem Friends' AWESOME Tag Sale.
PLEASE follow the few guidelines below to help
the volunteers get all items priced and organized!
We would love to have furniture but our storage
shed has limited space. IF POSSIBLE please wait
to bring any large items for donation until
the week before the sale when you can unload
directly into the gym - and we'll help!
*Help! Bring your donated items in boxes as opposed to
garbage bags. It helps us with storage and organizing!
*Please! Donate only clean clothes in good condition -
no stains, no tears!
*Sorry!We cannot accept any computers, monitors or printers.
*Please! Help us help by keeping the shed as organized
as possible.
Bring your donations to the yellow shed at the end of
the parking lot during school hours (Summer 8:30-3:30)
starting now. It's easy! Get the key at the front desk
and lock up afterwards.

Ride Share
Have you ever wondered how many other parents from your
area are driving their kids to Tandem everyday? Wouldn’t
it be nice to know other families with whom you could
share these responsibilities? RideShare’s SchoolPool
program can introduce you to other Tandem parents who
are interested in sharing rides to and from school—on
a daily basis, occasionally, or in an emergency.
SchoolPools can help families balance school and work
schedules, and they reduce traffic congestion around
the school’s pick-up and drop-off area. The SchoolPool
match list service is free of charge and involves only
minor administrative work at the beginning of a school
year. It is up to the parents or students—not
the school—to make arrangements regarding cost
sharing with other drivers.
