Tomorrow's Leaders Grow in Tandem

Tandem Friends School is where curious, creative students in grades 5-12 become independent, engaged, and imaginative learners and leaders.

It’s a place where students are given the agency to explore their passions, make their own choices, and find meaning in their pursuit of knowledge and their contributions to the world.

It’s a compassionate, inclusive community, rooted in Quaker values and distinguished by a progressive, purposed-based education

Here, on our 31-acre campus in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Virginia, teachers and students collaborate in the learning process; academic excellence is knowledge-oriented, not achievement-oriented; and every student is encouraged to embrace their inner light of wisdom.

When you join the Tandem Friends School family, you forge a genuine lifelong connection. The Tandem Admissions Team is excited to help you start your story.

TFS has a long and outstanding tradition of commitment to the creative arts, experiential education, service-learning, and social justice.

We believe that when young people are given the freedom, and the responsibility, to take an active role in their education and community, they can become their boldest selves - and they can change the world.
