8th Grade Artists Depict Interconnectivity in Hexagon Project
Middle School art teacher Julia Sapir's 8th grade art students recently completed working on the Hexagon Interconnectivity Project. Each 8th grader created a piece of art on a hexagon-shaped paper, choosing a topic they felt was relevant to the world and to them personally. The subject of the students' art ranged from environmental stewardship to teen mental health issues to technology/AI and beyond. Together, the assembled hexagons become a metaphor for interconnectivity and community and show how we impact, support and help one another. It's powerful artwork and it is on display in the Math/Science lobby if you'd like to check it out in person. Check out the finished hexagon projects by clicking on the headline.
